Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre

MCEC is one of the world’s largest convention and exhibition facilities. It is located near Melbourne CBD and just 30 minutes from Melbourne’s International Airport. It is part of a mixed-use hotel, retail and dining precinct.

How to get there

Airport

The MCEC is only 26km away from Melbourne Tullamarine Airport with an average drive time of 30 minutes.

By bus

The SkyBus transports visitors directly from Melbourne Airport to Southern Cross train station.

Bus route 237 operates from Queen Victoria Market, via Southern Cross Station to Lorimer Street South Wharf from Monday to Friday. Lormier Street is approximately a five minute walk to MCEC. There is also a coach pick up/drop off point at Bay 1, Convention Centre Place (closest to DFO South Wharf).

By Tram

Catch any of the following trams and exit at the stop opposite the Clarendon Street entrance of MCEC: Route 96 – St Kilda to East Brunswick Route 109 – Port Melbourne to Box Hill Route 12 – Victoria Gardens to St Kilda

Tram Routes 48 and 70 (Stop D5) will take you to Flinders Street. From there, it’s just a short walk up Clarendon Street until you reach us.

Parking

By taxi

Taxis take 20 minutes from the airport and cost around $40. Taxi drop off points are at 1 Convention Centre Place (for Convention Centre) or 2 Clarendon Street, South Wharf (for Exhibition Centre).

By train

Take any train that goes to Southern Cross Station. Exit at Southern Cross Station and catch tram number 96, 109 or 12.
